Whether it’s the sizzling heat of summer or the bitter chill of winter outside, you expect to be comfortable in your home. But as your heating and cooling equipment ages, its efficiency can decrease dramatically - costing you comfort and money.

The Efficiency Plus Homes Program offers Delaware homeowners  $400-$550 rebates to replace older, less efficient heating and cooling systems with select ENERGY STAR® qualified equipment.*   With these rebates as well as current federal tax credits available, there’s never been a better time to upgrade! Contact a participating heating and cooling contractor to learn more.

The table below shows efficiency level requirements and rebate amounts for specific heating and cooling equipment. If you have questions about whether your system qualifies for a rebate, select the equipment link in the table below to see if your system is listed AND to check if the system you've selected meets the minimum efficiency level below. If you have additional questions, consult your contractor or call an Efficiency Plus Homes representative at 877-624-4448 select option 2.

Equipment Type (AHRI Rated) Efficiency Level Rebate Amount
Central A/C ≥ 16 SEER and ≥ 13 EER $400
Air Source Heat Pump ≥ 15 SEER and ≥ 12.5 EER and ≥ 8.5 HSPF $400
Gas Furnace ≥ 92% AFUE $400
Oil Furnace ≥ 86% AFUE with ECM Motor $400
Gas Boiler ≥ 90% AFUE $550
Oil Boiler ≥ 86% AFUE with temperature reset or thermal purge control $550

*PLEASE NOTE:  Equipment installed must meet the minimum standards for the Efficiency Plus Homes Program.  It is not enough to only look for the ENERGY STAR label.  Consumers/contractors must purchase the minimum efficiency levels shown above, which may exceed ENERGY STAR requirements, so please ensure that your equipment will qualify for an incentive prior to purchase.
