How to Recycle Compact Fluorescent Bulbs (CFLs)
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recommends that CFLs be recycled because they contain a small amount of mercury. Here are some easy ways to recycle CFLs:
- Home Depot allows customers to take expired, unbroken CFLs to their stores. An environmental management company is then responsible for the proper recycling of the CFLs.
- For more information on how to properly recycle CFLs, visit epa.gov/bulbrecycling or call your town's recycling center.
